Regional Pizza Sauce Recipes
Chicago Stuffed Pizza Sauce
A variation on Chicago Deep Dish Pizza, this features a second crust layer on top of the pie. The top crust is topped with warm sauce and sprinkled with grated Parmigiano Reggiano before serving.
Makes 13½ cups of sauce.
Ingredients:
- 1 can 7/11® Ground Tomatoes
- 4 teaspoons Corto® Truly® 100% Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 7 teaspoons fresh oregano, chopped
- 3 ½ teaspoons fresh basil, chopped
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 12 cloves of garlic, minced
Instructions:
1. Mix all ingredients in a stainless steel bowl.
2. Enjoy!
